I have put version 4.3.0 of PlanePlotter on the web site at
http://www.planeplotter.comAs usual, updates are free to registered users. You may need to use
Ctrl-Refresh to force your browser to show the new version. Simply
install the new version on top of the old one. Your settings and
registration state will be preserved.
I have added three extra fields to the data stored internally and
displayed in View..Aircraft. These are
squawk code (eg '7700')
type code (eg 'B744')
route (eg 'EGLL-EGCC')
The squawk code is able to be populated from the SBS log file or
from the SBS TCP port. I have tested this on historical data but
not on live data because, round here, they don't include it. You
may be luckier.
The type code is automatically populated if you do a Look Up on an
aircraft. It will be permanently associated with the aircraft hex
identity if you enable the update option (and have an SQlite
database). There is a slight uncertainty here. The standard BS
SQlite database has two fields "Type" and "ICAOTypeCode". I have
used the "Type" field to save the code because that field is
displayed in the BS data window while the other field is not. If
there is a conflict with the usage, I may need to change which
record is used.
The route indicator (of the form EGLL-EGCC) can only be populated by
a new OLE/COM method. Another author is preparing a script to
automate this process. Watch this space.
All three new fields are also accessible via the OLE/COM access
