I have to get my post count up to 5 - so I earn the ability to post URL's and images! So here's one more post..
I have an SBS-1 not too far from Richmond YSRI - I am a few KM away from the airbase on the other side of the Hawkesbury River. I share on PlanePlotter as (bz) and you will usually see my data being used to display aircraft on the airways to the north and northwest of Richmond. A massive amount of traffic passes over my site each day (usually around 12,000 - 15,000 Feet on climb), mainly Sydney - Singapore / Bangkok / South East Asia and Sydney - China / North Asia / Japan routes.
I have been a big fan of ATC since being a kid (now I'm almost 50) and have always had some type of airband radio since teenage years.
I am also a mad keen A330 & A340 flightsim flyer (very serious simulation of real life ops!) and was the author of the Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra scenery used with Microsoft Flight Simulator 4. In those days it was a real buzz to walk into Game Wizards and other software stores and see my work on sale! I started flightsim with the very first version - In fact the reason I purchased my first computer was so I could run Flight Simulator!
My other main interests are the media / current affairs /news and travel - and I have a heap of satellite dishes that allow me to keep up to date with what is happening around the world. I also use one dish to stream the Australian Satellite ATC feed which is hosted on LiveATC.
My "real" job is as a Biomedical Engineer, a great job that has seen me spend most of my working life in South & Central Asia as well as the Middle East.
Cheers,
Mark
