This is probably a daft question , but here goes anyway ... How do you copy a screen shot so that it can be posted here ??.. I have seen some good stuff lately but just don't know how to share them with you all . Thanks .

Okay

I think we need a tutorial on that. Darren & I use slightly different methods.

I use a screen capture program called Snag-It by TechSmith. I'm sure there are free programs that do the same. It allows me to select a region of the screen and then quickly add an arrow, resize etc. Its brilliant.

Then, one I save the pic to my PC, I then go to http://www.imageshack.us/
This is where I upload the pic. then I use the 'Img' button in your posting/reply screen to paste in the location of the image.

e.g.

Image

I do hope this helps a bit. I like Dazza to tell us his method too.

At a later date, we may have the ability on this forum to have the image stuff integrated, which would be nice like Glenn's The Aussie Aviator Forum.

Also, Imageshhack may provide a screen capture utility, so have a look there....ok here http://reg.imageshack.us/content.php?page=quickshot

This is the link to the imageshack upload bit.
http://reg.imageshack.us/content.php?page=syndicate

You should register there, then you have all your pics on file for any future use.

Cheers,
The Chain

I've been using this one on my laptop - http://www.faststone.org/FSCaptureDetail.htm Somehow I got a free copy of it. I need to get it off my laptop.

There is a free version of snag-it available but it's an older copy. Have been meaning to install it - http://www.downloadsquad.com/2007/11/26 ... -for-free/

Dave, all I do mate is a screen print of what I want to put on the forums so:

Make sure your 'office lock' is off on your keyboard.

If you want to copy the particular window you have up only alt (while holding down alt), 'print screen', release alt key.

I then paste this into Paint and Save as a JPEG then upload to Imagechack. Select re-size image for message boards/forums and upload it. Then you need to copy the bottom link which is 'direct link to image'. Then come onto the forums, create new post (or reply to an old one). When you want to post the image go to 'img' enter the url you copied and then click 'img' again. This should insert your image into your post. You can 'preview' before posting just to make sure it has. Hope this helps.

I'd advise a program, you will be able to do more stuff. Snag-It is the best (note my red arrows...no silly, not the aerobatic team, actual red arrows that I use). Failing that, you can try the one at Imageshack.

Chainy, if you were real serious and loved planes so much you would add little red arrows planes to the end of those red lines

Now if you kept doing a screen shop of your screen shot etc etc it would look rather spooky eh? LOL

I go flying for the day and look what you chaps get up to  Chris, make sure your key 'office lock' is not on. This will stop your print screen working.
